Used AWD trucks for sale

In 1987, AWD - owned by David Brown - bought the Bedford Trucks manufacturing site from General Motors, which had stopped producing trucks in the UK in 1986. Alongside the manufacturing facility, AWD also obtained the rights to build the 16/17 tonnes GVW TL and TM range for civilian use, and was permitted to use the Bedford brand on the TK and 4x4 MK model for military sales.

AWD relied heavily on its sales to the British military. After the Ministry of Defence decision to replace its 4x4 fleet with trucks from rival manufacturer Leyland DAF rather than AWD, the company ceased building trucks and went into receivership in 1992.
