Swedish truck maker Scania, which is part of the VW Group, is renowned for building quality trucks. The brand is equally popular with drivers as it is operators, both groups appreciating the brand’s strong image, good driving characteristics and reputation for reliability. These qualities help the marque to maintain class-leading residual values.

The current range, which covers GVWs from 18 tonnes upwards, consists of the P Series, G Series, R Series, S Series and XT Series. The bonneted T Series, despite having been out of production for over a decade, remains a desirable used truck. In August 2016 Scania revealed the new S Series range, with engine outputs ranging from 370 to 730bhp, promising 5% more fuel economy than the previous models. Then, in September 2017, Scania launched the XT Series for heavy duty applications.
