Since being acquired by MV Commercial in 2021, Fruehauf’s UK market share has grown from 14.3% to 39.4% based on new trailer registrations from the first quarter of the year. The company’s expansion follows significant investment in its manufacturing facilities to increase capacity and improve efficiency. In addition to UK market sales, Fruehauf has supplied more than 100 trailers to Irish customers over the past year.

Fruehauf CEO, Tom O’Rourke, said: “We’re thrilled to announce that our market share has reached these impressive levels once again. This achievement reflects the dedication of our entire team and thanks to everyone involved. With exciting developments underway and partnership synergies between MV Commercial and Fruehauf just beginning to take shape, we’re confident in even greater growth ahead. Our focus remains on delivering exceptional value to our customers, as we continue to innovate, we’re eager to demonstrate what’s next for our industry.”

The tipper trailer manufacturer has maintained strong relationships with key customers including Bulmans Bulk, Openfield, Lomas Distribution, Wykes Engineering, Strawsons, 3R Solutions and Laws Transport. By year end, Fruehauf expects to have sold close to 700 trailers based on its current sales performance so far this year.

When MV Commercial took over in 2021, an injection of cash into Fruehauf’s 67 acre Grantham manufacturing facility enabled the modernisation of its production lines. By introducing automated machinery, the company has expanded its manufacturing capacity. In turn, Fruehauf has been able to cut lead times, satisfy rising demand for tipper trailers and improve quality and consistency across its product range.

Now with in-house production capabilities, the factory is being used to build MV Commercial products. Diversifying the group’s offering, 200 crane lorries and 50 drawbar trailers are currently in build. Fruehauf is also building the newly launched tipper blower trailer, 75 of which are expected to be delivered to customers in the animal feed industry this year.
