Thurrock-based Vicovanu Transport has added 15 new Krone box liner sliding chassis trailers to its fleet. With another 15 on order, the company’s existing Krone trailer fleet now stands at 90 units. Adjustable to carry 45, 40 and 30ft containers as well as two 20ft containers, the new trailers support Vicovanu’s multimodal logistics operations which cover road, rail, sea, and air.

Sergiu Vicovanu, managing director of Vicovanu Transport said: “The Krone Box Liner continues to be our premium trailer of choice. Its versatility, build quality, and reliability are unmatched for our kind of high-intensity container work. We operate across the UK and Europe and these trailers give us the flexibility and confidence to meet every logistical challenge.”

The trailer design uses double T-longitudinal beams and welded cross members. Its extractable rear bumper is compliant with EC regulations and all three axles are fitted with a reinforced parking brake system. Vicovanu benefits from integrated tyre monitoring which offers live reporting on tyre pressure and temperature.

Additional tech includes Krone’s telematics system which flags live error messages, diagnostic data, braking system status, trailer coupling information, mileage and GPS location. Krone shot blasts all steel components on the trailers which are primed with CDC coating before powder coating to protect against corrosion. Each chassis comes with a 10 year warranty against rust-through.

The new trailers join Vicovanu’s FORS-accredited fleet which operates around the clock working on container transport jobs. Founded in 2013, the family-run business handles imports and exports, full and part load haulage and logistics linking with other forms of transportation.

Krone’s box liner trailer was created with input from the Krone UK sales team to design a vehicle capable of handling, and compatible with, the demands of UK and Irish operators. It’s suitable for domestic and international intermodal transport.
