West Midlands-based GB Concrete has added a new Cemen Tech C60 mixer from Volumech to its fleet. After using Volumech’s workshop for service and repair work for GB Concrete’s existing fleet, the company decided to specify a new mixer.
Kieran Blaney, operations manager at GB Concrete said: “We have built a good relationship with Volumech over the last 12 months. It started from a workshop point of view then onto purchasing and parts. We then went to Volumech to help us with the technical side of things when we were looking to attain our BSI accreditation.
“From the top to the bottom, everybody at Volumech, whether it’s the engineers, the technical team or the staff in the office, they are all very supportive and really want to help us as a company grow. They are not just there to sell a vehicle.
“This is the first of the three new mixers which will bring us in line with the changes in legislation in 2028, modernise our fleet and give us full visibility and control over the concrete mixes.”
The Cemen Tech C60 is a fully automated volumetric mixer which allows operators to batch, mix, pour and track concrete all in the same unit. Volumech has provided GB Concrete operators with training to show how the system works. To improve the consistency of the concrete, pre-programmed mix designs can be inputted which helps to reduce wastage and save money.
Steve Cartwright, general manager at Volumech said: “We are delighted that GB Concrete have purchased their first new volumetric mixer from us. Our relationship is built on trust and reliability as we worked with them in the workshop and parts side of the business initially, before assisting with their technical requirements and now sales.
“It is a testament to the fantastic team working at Volumech and is a great example of the 360-degree bespoke service we are able to offer to our customers.”
