RGVA, the vehicle graphics company, has wrapped 232 vehicles for Johnsons Hotel, Restaurant & Catering Linen since 2017. Its latest project included new liveries for 53 DAF, Mercedes-Benz and Isuzu 7.5-tonne trucks. RGVA applied a 3M ij280 vinyl wrap to the cabs and flat surfaces elsewhere were wrapped with an Arlon 4550gtx.
Phil Martin, Shaftesbury transport manager for Johnsons, said: “We continue to be impressed with the efficiency of the team and the customer support offered by RGVA. The quality of the work is always excellent and we’ve had no issues with wraps peeling like we had to deal with when using a previous supplier.
“I’ve taken the time to watch the team wrap a few of our vehicles and it’s a fascinating process. RGVA ensures the wrap is done perfectly, even around the trickiest bits of the trucks, and you can tell they really care about making sure every part of the process is done to the highest possible standard.”
To achieve the desired look across the fleet, Johnsons works with RGVA before its new trucks arrive to provide the correct dimensions and approve artwork ready for vehicle delivery. Minimising the time it takes to get a vehicle on the road, RGVA can apply wraps when the vehicles are with bodybuilders or after delivery at RGVA’s site in Maidstone. From order to fitting, the process takes around two weeks.
Johnsons tends to keep its vehicles on fleet for between three to eight years with the wraps lasting over this time. Across its fleet of 370 vehicles, more than half of these are 3.5-tonne vans. The van fleet does multi-drop work, covering around 75,000 miles annually. While the wraps are designed to last for the life of the vehicle with Johnsons, individual panels can be rewrapped or new graphics applied in the event of any vehicle damage.
